Besides being our sustainable fashion autumn edition – this issue aims to provide inspiration and aspiration for the season of change. From interior and garden design through to luxury travel and fine food.
Our front cover hints of autumnal colours, but it’s fashion with an environmental conscience; pointing towards our ‘Agents of change’ feature – showcasing some of the top quality boutiques and brands who put sustainability first. The feature put together by stylists SurreyFrills champions everything from jewellery and beautifully colour printed clothes to prestige brands and ethically sourced accessories.
And on the environmental theme take a look at the elegant, beautiful classic cars that have been converted by retroelectrics to electric. These stunning examples of Porsche, Beetle and Fiat from a vintage era – lovingly transformed into fun, efficient and green transportation for the modern age.
We’ve also got art, with the upcoming exhibition by contemporary Still Life artist Emma Forrester coming to the Surrey gallery No Naked Walls in October. Emma’s work combines traditional Ottoman arabesque patterns with Chinese elements, and she draws her inspiration from oriental vases, with subjects such as blossom trees, Geishas, and spotted doves. The art continues with the latest rainbow range from glass artist of Jo Downs who is based in Cornwall, but has a gallery, shop and workshop in Sunningdale.
The weather might now be a bit cooler, but it is the perfect time to start planning the outside entertaining space within your garden. Design and landscaping experts Graduate Landscapes tell us the crucial things to consider.
Plus, in uncertain times such as these, we’ve got some timely advice on alternative investments such as gold and property. There are also pages of theatre and cultural events, food reviews, wine recommendations, an autumnal recipe and for pure escapism take a look at some gloriously historic, quirky and just plain stunning holiday lets to consider.
