Loop Associates – the Epsom-based specialist in smart-home technology solutions, on how the company brings years of expertise in the demanding commercial environment into high-end residential properties…
Loop Associates, specialists in smart-home technology solutions believes that the high-tech solution for a client’s home should never be at the expense of the property’s aesthetics. “We believe that we are experts in hiding technology within homes,” the company says. “That is, making the technology that clients want and need fit in with the aesthetic of their interior designer, or match their own personal taste.”
The process
The company explains that whenever it starts a project, it is so important to take a detailed look at the site, as well as listen carefully to the client. “This helps them make some decisions on exactly what they want, and what’s needed to make that happen. That goes from the top level – do they want a home cinema? Or a multi-room sound system for example, right down to the tiny details such as different options for colourways or textures.” The team goes on, “Is their aim to impress with grandeur, or be more subtle? We also gather all the technical data that’s needed for the complete installation, from power requirements to fabrics and how the client wants to control their new smart home.”
Digital art
Something that is breaking new ground and really beginning to take off in a residential setting is digital artwork. Up to now it’s relatively rare in the AV and smart-home installation sector, but it’s something that Loop has both experience and expertise in. It describes that even very large-scale permanent digital art installations are becoming popular as artists are realising the opportunities that the infinite canvas of digital spaces, as well as interactive elements, offer in terms of creating new types of art.
However, this comes with a need for the right kind of hardware and an eye for an installation that’s sympathetic to the effect the art will convey. “That’s where we’re needed and it’s a space we found ourselves comfortable working in because of the knowledge we’ve gained through years of commercial audio and visual solutions” says Managing Director Neil Dickinson, “Artists frequently also have very specific instructions on the types of screens that should be used and the lighting that surrounds their art, but that also has to marry up with the vision the homeowner has for the art within their particular home.”
Bespoke considerations for a client’s space
“We fully appreciate that our clients may want to proudly display digital art, or welcome guests into a party space with superlative premium audio and lighting, but also want the hardware behind all that to be invisible. But that’s a problem we’re very happy to solve for them; we’re proud of our expertise in finding the ‘right’ solutions for our clients. For example, there’s often a race to offer the biggest, brightest, latest, loudest or most bass-heavy speakers or projectors for home cinemas, but sometimes that’s just not right for the space available, or really won’t provide the best experience. Perhaps that’s just something else that makes us different; we don’t just sell the kit and wire it up, we’re very careful to work out what will give our clients the best end result. Of course, sometimes more is more, and when that’s the case we’re happy to go big! But we’ll also be the first to tell the customer if the quality they’re looking for requires a more delicate touch too.”
Tried and tested with 24-hour support
Finally, Loop explains that all the systems that it designs have reliability and dependability at the core. The team specifies equipment that it has tested itself, ensuring that the it has the ability to remotely monitor and reboot all the core technology and offers 24/7/365 support agreements.
