As founder of the ‘Luxury Collective Surrey’ and the fast expanding ‘Thrive Club’ entrepreneur networking groups, Luna Williams obviously knows a thing or two about premium level services and so we sent her along to WC2, conveniently just over the river from Waterloo, to sample a spa in a city setting…
Thai Square Spa, a new addition to the wellness landscape, boasts a fusion of Thai, Roman, and Turkish design elements, creating an ambiance of tranquility. The spa, housed in a former Turkish bath, exudes serenity with its Thai silk, wood carvings, and gold murals carefully selected to adorn the space.
Having undergone a sensitive refurbishment, Thai Square Spa offers a luxurious retreat where patrons can rejuvenate their mind, body, and spirit. The facility features top-notch amenities, including four Traditional Thai Massage rooms, seven Ritual Massage rooms, and a spacious VIP suite with a private relaxation zone and steam room.
‘Best Luxury Thai Spa’ winner – among others!
Thai Square Spa has for years been multi-award winning. Just since 2023 for example the accolades have included ‘Best Luxury Thai Spa in London’ (LUXlife Global Luxury Hotel & Spa Awards 2023), ‘Best Luxury Oriental Spa in Northern Europe’, ‘Best Luxury Traditional Thai Spa in Northern Europe’, and ‘Best Interior Design in the UK’ – by World Luxury Spa Awards.
Luna experienced the Thai massage – also known as Thai yoga, or the lazy person yoga. Combining assisted yoga with acupressure techniques.
“My therapist Jody served me a lovely warm tea while she washed my feet and discussed any areas of concern before she started my treatment” says Luna. “It is performed on a firm bed using the practitioners entire body as she kneads and presses muscles along the body’s energy lines. This form of therapeutic massage typically falls in the category of complementary and alternative medicine. It is deeply relaxing tension relieving massage which helps increase flexibility and range of motion”.
Some science backed evidence of health benefits include improved circulation and mobility, reduced stress and anxiety and an easing of chronic lower back pain.
Luna added “unlike a Swedish massage, no oils are used, so after an hour and another cup of tea in the beautiful, tranquil relaxation area, I was ready to carry on with my day.”

A variety of treatments at Thai Square Spa cater to diverse preferences and needs. Options range from Exotic Hydro refinement to Ancient Ritual mud wraps, Botanical wraps, invigorating scrubs, and hot stone massages. Traditional Thai massages, incorporating deep tissue work, pressure points, and stretching techniques, promise therapeutic benefits.
Facial treatments, such as the ‘golden’ facial and the ‘Lotus defence’ facial, draw inspiration from ancient Siamese beauty rituals. Additionally, the spa offers specialised treatments for men, ritual therapies, maternity therapies, scalp and foot treatments, and private herbal steam experiences. Travellers seeking relief from post-flight tension and jet lag can also find tailored solutions.
Amidst the hustle and bustle of London life a stones throw from Trafalgar Square, Thai Square Spa indeed seems to offer a serene retreat where you can escape and indulge in a range of therapeutic treatments which draw from diverse cultural influences.
