The Onyria Marinha Boutique Hotel in Cascais, Portugal, has officially rebranded as Onyria Marinha Cascais, Vignette Collection by IHG, following a partnership with global hospitality group IHG Hotels & Resorts.
The rebranding marks the hotel’s entry into IHG’s Vignette Collection – a group of luxury properties known for their distinctive identity and commitment to social and environmental initiatives. The move is part of a broader repositioning by the Onyria Group, a family-run Portuguese company that will continue to own and operate the venue.
The hotel has also undergone a significant design refresh in collaboration with UK-based interior design firm Goddard Littlefair. Drawing influence from the surrounding Sintra-Cascais Natural Park, the new interiors feature natural tones and organic textures across guest rooms and communal spaces.
As part of the Vignette Collection’s global “A Means for Good” initiative, the hotel has launched a new partnership with local charity REFOOD Cascais. The organisation works to reduce food waste and fight hunger in the area. Under the initiative, the hotel will provide daily food donations, host community events, and introduce a charity-linked dessert created by Chef Mathilde, with proceeds going directly to REFOOD.
Guests can also participate in a new daily ritual titled Roots & Senses, involving guided breathing exercises, essential oils, and revitalising juices in the hotel lobby each morning.
João Pinto Coelho, Chief Commercial Officer of the Onyria Group, said the transition is part of a long-term strategy to enhance the group’s presence in the luxury hospitality market. He also confirmed that Onyria’s flagship property, Onyria Quinta da Marinha Hotel, is undergoing renovations and is set to reopen in early 2026 under the Kimpton brand, also part of IHG.
Both hotels will continue to operate under existing leadership and staff, many of whom have been part of the company for over three decades.
