UK holiday rental specialist Oliver’s Travels has added a unique new property to its portfolio with the launch of The Folly at Sandringham, offering guests the rare opportunity to stay within the grounds of one of Britain’s most iconic royal estates.
Located on the 20,000-acre Sandringham Estate in Norfolk, The Folly is a newly restored turreted retreat now available for exclusive holiday bookings. The property, which originally served as a tea room for ladies of the house, blends historical charm with modern comforts. It features period details such as stone hearths, arched doorways, hand-finished floors and William Morris wallpaper. The home sleeps up to six guests across three double bedrooms in two wings, and includes a principal ensuite bedroom and a wraparound balcony. A private turret offers sweeping views across the estate and, on clear days, glimpses of the sea.
Sandringham has been a private retreat for the Royal Family since it was purchased by Queen Victoria in 1862 for her son, the future Edward VII. The estate continues to serve as a countryside home and is famously where the Royal Family gathers for Christmas.
Oliver Bell, Co-Founder of Oliver’s Travels, described The Folly as a “rare privilege” for guests, saying the company is “proud to open the doors to such a unique retreat”. The property is available exclusively through Oliver’s Travels and joins the brand’s portfolio of characterful and heritage-rich homes across the UK and Europe.
With access to the estate’s historic parkland, woodland, and gardens, guests can explore Sandringham’s royal heritage and natural beauty. Inside, The Folly offers heritage-inspired interiors including a traditional kitchen with butler sinks and a drawing room with French doors opening onto landscaped gardens.
Prices for The Folly at Sandringham in 2025 start from £3,000 for a three-night stay for six guests. Bookings can be made via www.oliverstravels.com or by calling 0333 888 0205.
