Earlier this summer Zafiro Hotels officially reopened its fully renovated four-star adults-only resort, Zafiro Alzinar Mar, in the quiet seaside town of Ca’n Picafort, northern Mallorca. Situated close to Playa de Muro and the S’Albufera Nature Reserve, the resort is designed for guests aged 16 and over, catering to the growing demand for wellness-focused, child-free holiday experiences.
The property features 128 redesigned suites with minimalist interiors inspired by the surrounding landscape. Local designer Marga Rotger, known for her work on Zafiro’s Palace Collection, led the refurbishment. Select suites include private pools and all offer access to outdoor areas including a central swimming pool and a chill-out pool intended for quieter relaxation.
Aiming to appeal to both wellness travellers and active holidaymakers, the resort includes a new semi-Olympic pool, modern fitness facilities, and an outdoor CrossFit area. Guests can also participate in daily activities such as yoga, aquagym, and aerobics as part of the Zafiro Fit & Sports programme. A fully refurbished spa offers treatments such as hot stone and deep tissue massages, alongside a Turkish bath and sauna.
The hotel has also enhanced its facilities for cycling tourism, with a dedicated bike station, repair workshop, and direct access to cycling routes. Mallorca is considered one of Europe’s top destinations for cyclists, and the resort’s location supports this reputation.
Dining options include à la carte and buffet restaurants, featuring a mix of local and international cuisine. The Wet Bar allows guests to enjoy drinks without leaving the pool, and menus focus on regional flavours with an emphasis on fresh, locally sourced ingredients.
Zafiro Alzinar Mar’s location near cultural sites such as the Son Real necropolis and traditional towns like Muro and Sa Pobla offers additional appeal to guests seeking a more authentic experience of the island.
Zafiro Hotels currently operates a portfolio of 14 properties across Mallorca and Menorca, combining luxury, sustainability, and service-led hospitality.
