Italian luxury fashion house Brunello Cucinelli has launched Mediterranea, its new High Summer 2026 capsule collection, presenting a range of menswear and womenswear inspired by Mediterranean landscapes, artisanal craftsmanship and relaxed seasonal dressing.
The collection combines lightweight fabrics, neutral tones and handcrafted detailing across pieces designed for both everyday wear and formal summer occasions. Linen, cotton, hemp and silk feature prominently throughout the range, alongside nautical-inspired motifs and relaxed tailoring.
A recurring shell theme forms the centrepiece of the womenswear collection, appearing in embroidery, knitwear and printed designs. Among the standout pieces are the OPERA Dazzling Shell mini dress and coordinating top, both created using an intricate handmade process involving knitted net structures, embroidered suspended arches and individually crocheted scales crafted from linen, hemp and cotton yarns with sequins.
According to the brand, each decorative scale takes approximately five minutes to complete by hand. The mini dress requires around 66 hours of craftsmanship, while the matching top takes roughly 30 hours to produce.
The collection also introduces Zabaione Yellow, a bright seasonal shade applied to cotton poplin and seersucker garments including shirts, shorts and dresses. Other womenswear pieces reinterpret traditional Sangallo and Broderie Anglaise embroidery techniques across jackets, skirts and tops, combining lightweight cotton organza and linen textures for a softer summer aesthetic.

Menswear within the Mediterranea collection focuses on relaxed tailoring and understated neutral tones, including Shell White, described by the company as a softly powdered shade inspired by coastal landscapes. Unlined jackets, lightweight knitwear and drawstring trousers feature heavily, alongside retro-inspired outerwear and Bermuda shorts styled with tailored separates.
Formalwear includes a three-piece micro-chevron linen suit comprising a deconstructed jacket, waistcoat and relaxed trousers, while eveningwear offers a contemporary interpretation of the tuxedo in shell-coloured silk paired with casual elements such as jersey T-shirts and espadrilles.
The shell motif continues throughout the menswear range in graphic T-shirt prints inspired by baroque architecture and decorative stucco detailing.
Brunello Cucinelli said the Mediterranea capsule collection is intended to capture the “light and radiant spirit” of the Italian summer through craftsmanship, natural fibres and versatile silhouettes.
