Frankenstein by Guildford Shakespeare Company

The final production in Guildford Shakespeare Company’s 2025 programme is a new adaptation of Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein. In an age when artificial intelligence is growing more and more powerful, with AI-led rights advocacy groups being formed and debate growing around whether ‘digital suffering’ could be a real thing, 200 years on Mary Shelley’s gothic thriller reveals shocking parallels with our present day fears of AI. This brand-new play is adapted and directed by GSC regular collaborator Caroline Devlin and is staged amidst the Victorian splendour of Guildford’s St Nicolas’ Church.

7 November: Guildford Rugby Club (Broadwater Pavilion)
The annual Godalming Town Firework night is hosted by Guildford Rugby Club. Open to all with advance tickets only. There will be food and drink stalls and entertainment.
8 November: Guildford Firework Fiesta 2025, Stoke Park
From £15.00 (Children under 16 enter free when accompanied by an adult). All children require tickets. The park will be open from 5pm and food and drinks will be available from 5pm until 9:15pm.
Live Music: The Hired Guns will be playing 2 sets. Children’s entertainment will include LED walkabout characters and a juggler between 6pm and 8:30pm and Charlie Maynes funfair from 5pm until 9pm.
8 November: Woking Fireworks Extravaganza 2025, Woking Park
The family-friendly timings are: funfair and catering outlets available from 5:30pm with fireworks at 7:30pm.
8 November: Wimbledon Park Fireworks in the Park 2025
Families are in for an evening of excitement and entertainment as gates open at 5:15pm, welcoming visitors with refreshments and a lively funfair. The first fireworks show, designed to be more suitable for young children, will light up the sky at 6:45pm. Later in the evening, a second dazzling fireworks display is scheduled for 8:30pm, offering a grander spectacle. The funfair will continue until 10pm, rounding off a fun-filled night for all ages.
MASTER CLASSES
Macaron Masterclass with Chef Leyre Pedrazuela Otero
Sunday 29th November | 12:00pm – 4:00pm at Petite Patisserie, Farnham
Petite Patisserie welcomes baking enthusiasts for an afternoon of creativity and indulgence at a Macaron Masterclass led by Chef Leyre Pedrazuela Otero, star of Bake Off: The Professionals.
Perfect for all skill levels — from complete beginners to confident home bakers — this hands-on session will guide participants through every stage of macaron making. Under Chef Leyre’s expert instruction, attendees will learn:
• Step-by-step macaron-making techniques
• How to prepare silky ganache, buttercream and fresh fruit fillings
• Decorating and presentation tips to make each creation shine
• Ingredient insights and sourcing advice
• Professional tricks for achieving flawless macarons every time

Wreath making at Monkey Island, Bray
Monkey Island Estate, YTL Hotels’ island escape in Bray, Berkshire, has partnered with award-winning, local florist, Kim Wright, for a wreath-making workshop on 27th November 2025. Guests are invited to craft their own bespoke wreaths, using high-quality materials under Kim’s expert guidance in spectacular surroundings. The two and a half hour workshop includes all materials, along with complimentary hot drinks to enjoy throughout the morning.
Festive wreath making at Monkey Island Estate will be held from 10.30 am on 27th November. £85 per person including all materials, hot drinks, and necessary guidance. Spaces for the workshop are limited, and reservations are required. To book, please visit here.

This remarkable collection of works in ink and watercolour covers the major political events and figures from the turbulent last 18 months – from war in Ukraine and the Middle East, to the churn of British politics and, of course, the cult of Trump. From artisan stalls to card-making workshops at Festive Late at The Lightbox
To celebrate the festive season, Woking’s Lightbox gallery are staying open after hours, offering food, drinks, workshops and craft stalls as well as free access to their exhibitions into the evening. Cosy-up with some mulled wine and gourmet burgers in the courtyard before browsing our artisan craft stalls, perfect for unique gifts for loved ones. All exhibitions will be open to the public on the night, so bring your friends and family for this special opportunity to see world-class contemporary artworks and fascinating local history, after hours and for free. There will also be two Linocut festive card making workshops running on the night, one from 5:30 – 6:30pm and the other from 7 – 8pm. Book in advance to make sure you don’t miss this opportunity to create your own festive design that could serve as this year’s holiday greeting card!

Wes Anderson: The Archives at The Design Museum

The Design Museum presents a landmark exhibition offering unprecedented access to Wes Anderson’s personal archives, showcasing over 600 objects that chart the evolution of his distinctive filmmaking style from the 1990s to today. Featuring original storyboards, sketches, puppets, costumes, and miniature sets, the display reveals the meticulous craft behind iconic films including The Grand Budapest Hotel, Fantastic Mr. Fox, The Royal Tenenbaums, and Isle of Dogs. Highlights include the candy-pink model of the Grand Budapest Hotel, Gwyneth Paltrow’s FENDI fur coat from The Royal Tenenbaums, and stop-motion puppets from The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou. Visitors can also enjoy a screening of Anderson’s first short, Bottle Rocket (1993), and explore the hand-made techniques that continue to define his whimsical cinematic world.

Dirty Looks: The Dirty Side of Fashion

From mud-splashed dresses to faux-stained jeans and upcycled creations, discover how designers from Alexander McQueen and Vivienne Westwood to new voices like Elena Velez and IAMISIGO are challenging glossy ideals and reimagining fashion’s relationship with the earth, the body and sustainability.
Dirty Weekend (18+): Celebrating fashion and filth
On 29th-30th November, as part of the ‘Dirty Looks’ event, this weekend takeover fills the Barbican’s spaces with installations, talks, screenings, live art and club energy
