The Grange Festival (4 June – 6 July 2025) has announced the full cast for two of its major concert highlights: Queen at the Opera (5, 8, 19 June) and Bernstein on Broadway (26, 29 June). The concerts bring together top talent from opera and the West End in an ambitious fusion of musical genres.
Queen at the Opera marks 50 years since the release of Queen’s A Night at the Opera, celebrating its operatic influences and iconic track Bohemian Rhapsody. Following strong demand and two sell-out shows, an additional date has been added on 19 June.
The cast includes West End performers Jon Boydon (Heathers the Musical, Mamma Mia!), Peter Eldridge, Jenna Lee-James (Frozen), and Rachael Wooding (We Will Rock You). They are joined by opera talents Jordan Pitts, known for his drag persona Creatine Price; Nikola Printz (San Francisco Opera); and Ann Toomey (Glyndebourne). Conductors Edwin Outwater (5, 8 June) and Pete Harrison (19 June) lead the BBC Concert Orchestra.
Bernstein on Broadway showcases selections from West Side Story, Candide, On the Town, and Wonderful Town. The cast features musical theatre stars Julian Ovenden, Elèna Gyasi, Gabriela Garcia, and Lewis Francis, performing alongside opera singers Claudia Boyle and Trystan Llŷr Griffiths. The concert will be conducted by Grammy Award-winner Karen Kamensek with the Welsh National Opera Orchestra and The Grange Festival Chorus.
The Festival also includes three fully staged opera productions—La Traviata, Les Indes Galantes (a Baroque-street dance hybrid), and Die Fledermaus in English—as well as concerts and a sold-out Ballet Black dance double bill.
The 2025 season, curated by new Chief Executive Tyler Stoops, has already seen record-breaking sales, with ticket revenue up 76% year-on-year. Pricing has been overhauled to boost accessibility, with over 5,000 tickets under £100, and a new Under 36 Tickets scheme offering tickets from £5. More than 750 young people have already taken advantage of the initiative.
The Grange Festival runs from 4 June – 6 July 2025 at The Grange, Alresford SO24 9TZ
The start time is 5pm for Monday to Saturday performances and 4pm for Sunday performances.
