An independent watchmaker has unveiled a new collection of timepieces incorporating space-flown materials and ancient meteorite fragments, drawing on themes from both cosmic history and human space exploration.
Diatom announced the release of its Terra Meteorite collection today (7th April). The range features watches designed to reference the mid-20th century “golden era” of spaceflight, with each piece containing materials that have travelled more than 120,000 feet above Earth.
The Terra Meteorite model measures 39.5mm in diameter and is powered by a Swiss-made Sellita SW200 automatic movement, offering a power reserve of approximately 38 hours. According to the company, the movement itself has been flown to high altitude, forming part of the watch’s broader space-related narrative.

A key feature of the collection is its dial, which is crafted from iron-nickel meteorite estimated to be around 4.5 billion years old. Each dial is treated with a proprietary colouring process, resulting in variations that make every watch visually distinct. The company states that this approach is intended to highlight the natural structure of the meteorite while introducing modern colour finishes.
The watch’s chapter ring incorporates material sourced from the Apollo 11 Command Module, linking the design to one of the most significant missions in the history of human spaceflight. This inclusion is positioned as both a technical and symbolic element within the design.
The Terra Meteorite collection will be released in five colour variants: Arctic, Azure, Dune, Graphite and Lagoon. Each version takes inspiration from natural environments on Earth, such as polar regions, deserts and oceans. The watches are paired with colour-matched Alcantara straps.
Pricing for the collection is set at £2,200. Each variant will be limited to 650 pieces, with the company citing exclusivity as part of the appeal. The watches are currently available for pre-order, with deliveries expected to begin in June 2026. Customers who pre-order will also receive an additional stainless steel bracelet.
