Wentworth Club’s collaborative charity initiative launches

On the evening of Saturday March 30th, Wentworth Club revealed their newly formed charity partnership, ‘IMPACT: Driving for Change’, an exciting collaboration with The European Tour Foundation and The Black Heart Foundation.

With far-reaching connections and a history of successful fundraising activity, the three foundations plan to combine skills, resources and knowledge to provide even greater opportunities and funding for Wentworth Club’s chosen charities. The Wentworth Foundation provides a number of young people from the local community with the opportunity to develop their skills in tennis and golf. The Black Heart Foundation improves access to quality education for children with under-privileged backgrounds and in 2019 The European Tour Foundation will raise funds for The Alexander Devine Children’s Hospice, The Woking & Sam Beare Hospice and Dreamflight.

Wentworth Club Members and VIP guests gathered together at the IMPACT: Driving for Change Gala Launch, including Ric Lewis of the Black Heart Foundation, Keith Pelley of the European Tour and rugby legend Matt Dawson.

During the evening event, guests partook in a charity auction hosted by Matt Dawson which saw notable prizes including a one year’s Membership at Ten Trinity Square, one year’s Family Membership at Wentworth Club and a Pro-Am Team at the 2019 British Masters.

Wentworth Club’s Captain, Jeremy Martell, said:

“I first sowed the seed of creating something bigger and better for those less fortunate in our communities, over a year ago, with my tenure of Captaincy seemingly miles away. It gives me huge pride and immense pleasure to see our three great organisations come together to create ‘Impact Driving for Change’. Now the hard work really begins!”

Throughout 2019, Wentworth Club will host a series of events to support ‘Impact: Driving for Change’ in the lead up to the prestigious BMW PGA Championship 2019.
